IAT Leadership in Naples
Since 2014, Bill Cunningham has served as IAT Insurance Group’s Chief Executive Officer, leading the company’s Management Committee, and serving as a member of its Board of Directors. His career spans more than 30 years in the property and casualty insurance industry. He began and built his career at Travelers Insurance, climbing to its executive ranks before being tapped to lead IAT.
At Travelers, Bill held positions in Commercial Accounts, National Accounts and Construction. He was the Executive Vice President of Business Insurance at Travelers with oversight responsibility for Travelers Commercial businesses. From 2006 to 2010, Bill served as Senior Vice President of Business Insurance and was responsible for the Commercial Middle Market businesses. Prior to that, he was Chief Executive Officer of Commercial Accounts and, in that role, he also provided oversight for the company’s Construction business.
Bill is a graduate of Trinity College and serves as a Charter Trustee on the Trinity College Board of Directors. In addition, he and his wife Sandy, run The Foundation for a Cure for Mitochondrial Disease, Inc. known as “MitoCure”. MitoCure exists to educate communities about Mitochondrial Disease and to generate financial support for the most promising research for a cure.
Dave Pirrung has served as IAT’s Chief Financial Officer since 2005 with responsibility for the company’s accounting and financial reporting, treasury and investment management, actuarial, and regulatory compliance. Dave started with IAT in June of 2002 as Senior Vice President/Treasurer and was promoted to CFO three years later. He is a member of IAT’s Management Committee.
Dave began his financial and insurance career in 1990 as an auditor with Ernst & Young LLP where he focused exclusively in the property and casualty insurance practice for more than 10 years.
As Chief Underwriting Office at IAT, Greg Even oversees the company’s underwriting, product development and loss control leadership teams. He works closely with each of our business units with implementation and management of strategic underwriting decisions and he is a member of the Management Committee.
Prior to joining IAT in August 2017, Greg spent nearly 30 years with Travelers Insurance holding various positions of increasing responsibilities across all segments of Commercial property and casualty businesses. Most recently, he served as Chief Underwriting Officer for Travelers Insurance Middle Market Group and Commercial Accounts. Middle Market is comprised of Commercial Accounts, Construction, Technology, Public Sector, Oil & Gas, and Excess Casualty with over $6 billion in premium selling a broad range of commercial property and casualty products and services. His previous roles at Travelers included leading the field teams for both National Accounts and Small Commercial as well as leading the Global Services business practice.
He is a graduate of Saint Anselm College.
Todd Bateson has more than 30 years of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry. He has led the company’s Commercial Transportation business unit since 2017. Todd joined IAT in 2015. He is a member of IAT’s Management Committee.
Todd joined IAT from Travelers Insurance where he was President of the Specialized Distribution Unit with a focus on trucking risks, excess and surplus lines and program business. Prior to that, he held high level underwriting and product development positions with Aetna Casualty & Surety Company.
Todd is a graduate of Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and has his Master’s in Business Administration from Georgia State University. He is also a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).
Coy Rudd joined IAT in 2017 to establish and lead IAT’s Excess Casualty Mid-Market business unit. He has since expanded his purview at IAT to lead Excess and Surplus, focusing on building and growing these lines of business for IAT. Coy serves as a member of IAT’s Management Committee.
Coy came to IAT with more than 30 years of experience. Prior to joining IAT, Coy worked at XL Catlin where he most recently served as Regional Vice President, East with responsibility for the growth of the Excess & Surplus casualty business in the Eastern region for primary and excess casualty. Prior to XL Catlin, he was Vice President, Excess Product Line Manager at Colony Specialty Insurance and his career has included positions at Axis U.S. Insurance, Investors Underwriting Managers and Reliance National Insurance Company, among others.
Coy is a graduate of Montclair State University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and holds a Master of Science in International Business Management from Seton Hall University.
Joe Tracy joined IAT in 2017 to launch and lead IAT’s Inland Marine, Property and Aviation unit. Additionally, he serves as the underwriting lead for IAT’s Property and Inland Marine lines of business across IAT, developing and delivering leading-edge cargo coverage offerings. He is a member of IAT’s Management Committee.
Joe brought nearly 30 years of industry experience to IAT, primarily focused on Inland Marine and Commercial Property at Chubb, OneBeacon and Travelers. At OneBeacon, Joe advanced the company’s Monoline Property and Inland Marine unit, served as Chief Underwriting Officer for authority and strategy development of first party lines and profitably grew the unit including expanding capabilities, product, capacity and service offerings. Most recently before joining IAT, Joe was the Business Unit President for Travelers’ Inland Marine Business Unit.
Joe is a graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
Mike Zurcher joined IAT in 2023 to lead the company’s Surety business. He brings more than 30 years of surety and commercial property and casualty underwriting experience. He is a member of IAT’s Management Committee.
Mike joined IAT from Travelers Insurance where he was Field Vice President, Business Insurance, Northeast Region. He served as Business Unit Head of Commercial Surety, responsible for worldwide commercial surety operations, and Vice President, Commercial Surety prior to that. Before his 12-year career with Travelers, Mike held the position of Vice President and Director, Commercial Surety at Chubb. In this role, he was responsible for co-leading the commercial surety operation and portfolio for agents and brokers located throughout the United States and Europe.
Mike graduated from Franklin Pierce University with a degree in Business Management.
David brought more than 18 years of management liability experience when he joined IAT in December 2025 as SVP of Management Liability. In addition to strong leadership skills, he brings with him strong partnerships and deep expertise in wholesale distribution and private and nonprofit risks.
Prior to joining IAT, David served as Head of Management Liability at Lexington Insurance (an AIG company), leading that team and successfully growing the LexPro Management Liability portfolio. He grew his career through leadership roles at Argo Group and Zurich North America and began his career as an Executive Liability Underwriter with Great American.
David holds a master’s degree in accounting from Roosevelt University and a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Illinois.
Trent Haas joined IAT in 2021 as Chief Claims Officer bringing an extensive background in property (homeowners and commercial), general liability and auto liability claims. He is a member of IAT’s Management Committee.
Trent joined IAT from The Hartford where he was Vice President, General Liability and Auto Litigation Field Claim Operations. Prior to that role, he served as Vice President, Auto & Property Field Claim Operations following several years as Vice President Claims from where his responsibility spanned oversight for property major case, construction claims, environmental liability and marine claims.
Before starting his career at The Hartford, he spent four years at The Hartford Steam Boiler progressing from Counsel to Litigation Counsel and Vice President overseeing claims, litigation counsel and strategic products. Earlier in his career, Trent was a Litigation Associate with Morrison Mahoney LLP in Hartford, CT. Trent received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University and his J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law. He is admitted to the Connecticut Bar.
Caryn Best joined IAT in 2017 bringing more than 25 years of experience in business including employee and agent/partner communications, public relations and marketing. Caryn oversees the company’s corporate communications, marketing, and branding. She is member of IAT’s Management Committee.
Caryn’s background includes building and reinforcing brand images on behalf of a variety of companies across diverse industries, both in corporate roles and with advertising and PR firms. Earlier in her career she served as Corporate Communications Manager for Kemper Insurance, managing agent and employee communications nationwide. She started her career in public relations and spent eight years with a branding and public relations agency in New York City.
Caryn holds a B.A. in Communications from Florida State University.
